I am running for President of the Czech Academy of Sciences for the period 2025-2029 with great humility and responsibility. The management of the Czech Academy of Sciences must solve four important tasks in the coming period.
(1) The Czech Academy of Sciences urgently needs to make more use of synergy and complementarity with Czech and foreign universities. This will strengthen the position of Czech research in Europe.
(2) The Czech Academy of Sciences urgently needs to simplify the international evaluation and use its conclusions to develop all institutes by creating a motivating and stimulating institutional budget. This is also a necessary prerequisite for successful negotiations on its increase.
(3) The Czech Academy of Sciences urgently needs to deepen professional cooperation across all three scientific areas. This will fully utilize the unique potential for comprehensive solutions to social challenges, from which we will all benefit.
(4) The Czech Academy of Sciences urgently needs to revise the operation and legal anchoring of the SSČ, v.v.i. We need accessible, high-quality and effective central services, including coordination of technology and knowledge transfer.
